In late 2018, at around the time I onboarded my 38th merchant in North Queensland, I made the now famous BCHiness Meeting - North Queensland Style post to reddit. What made this post famous was a comment in this thread by reddit user Egon_1 where he coined the term Bitcoin Cash City.
The Comment That Coined It
In Egon_1's comment we see the first use of the term Bitcoin Cash City, with a link to the Bitcoin City video. When I read the comment at the time I was blown away, and from that moment onwards I referred to the region as the Bitcoin Cash City. You can feel my excitement embodied in my response - I just wanted to pause and savour the moment.
This thread is still visible today, as is my excited response to Egon_1's comment.
The Present
Today, the Bitcoin Cash City has the highest merchant adoption per-capita in the world and represents the most important real-world asset of any cryptocurrency. Of note is that no other crypto has a comparable example.
Since founding, the Bitcoin Cash City has grown to hundreds of merchants and efforts are underway to grow this sound money economy with projects like the Gregory Street merchant hotspot, which has just achieved 20% merchant adoption.
Visitors to Bitcoin Cash City can enjoy using the money-of-the-future in one of the most idyllic destinations on earth.
